School as Sanctuary: Practical Strategies for Responding to Immigration Enforcement

February 12 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm PST
With our families and communities facing risk of deportation, school leaders have an urgent duty to act. This interactive town hall and panel discussion offers a critical space to explore resources, exchange strategies, and find solidarity.
We will focus on providing answers to the most urgent questions:
- What are the legal and ethical responsibilities school leaders have when facing immigration enforcement?
- How can we best communicate and support the mental and emotional well-being of students and families in crisis?
- What immediate resources can be leveraged to empower staff and the broader community?
Hear from those who have wrestled with these challenges and leave with ideas for building and maintaining the school as a safe harbor.
